About This Space

I am the Muse/Writer behind this Blog that I’ve christened, “On the Outside Looking In” or OTOLI “Oh-tuh-lee”, a phrase that perfectly described how I was feeling one day thinking about a situation that caught my attention.  I was a bystander, not even a fly on the wall and I found myself thinking, this kind of thing happens to a lot of people, where they get caught up in an idea or situation and they are just on the outside looking in.

So, I am writing a Blog instead of a journal.  With journals you have to worry about intimate thoughts being exposed.  This Blog will become the Banker of all my imaginings, thoughts and what-ifs and where I put my imaginings and especially when something jumpstarts my sensibilities.  Like today when I was out for a walk, the fallen leaves felt like a crunchy carpet.  Their crunchy noise caught my attention and made stop and look down at my feet.  There were so many and they covered the sidewalk.  It was amazing.

Or, another time I was sitting on the train looking out the window and got the most ethereal feeling seeing the front of the train from where I sat in the back of the train.  It was a perfect arc rounding the tracks as it pulled into the train station.

I have been told I am both transparent and opaque.  Transparent because I don’t (or can’t) hide my feelings and opaque because people say it’s hard to read me.  Of course I am wondering how I can be both – there I go, outside looking in!

I’m passionate about being creative and I like idea streaming.  If I am reading a book or magazine when an inspiration or idea strikes, whatever I am reading becomes note paper.  I don’t like lost ah-ha moments and I dislike when an inspiration evaporates becoming a ghost and disappears, especially when my continual jabbing to recapture it becomes a lost cause.  I like inspiring others and if you are feeling me and decide to check in you can expect:
