Resolution Solution
The end of a year – even a birthday year triggers memories from the past year, things lost, what might have been and thoughts of setting the record straight. Under a 365-day radar, setbacks probably don’t outweigh the positives.
Celebrating an upcoming or recent birthday might stimulate
good thoughts and looking forward to the wisdom age brings. The zillion things that turned out well like the
bus, train and plane, (I barely made) that arrived safely with lucky me on it; the
savings of time, effort, energy, money, ego and embarrassment determined by split-second
decisions, especially in the aftermath of intimidating “what-ifs” that hit home. I’m thinking about unexpected moments of undeserved
success. Some habits need no improvement
because they’re good as is.
Figuring out what we want from a “new year” is challenging.
This year, I:
- resolve to become more of my creative-artistic self
- put multi-task buttons on pause more often
- continue downsizing uber-possessions as I transition to a less-is-more mindset that gives me back precious floor space, wall space, closet space, mind space and for nothing space.
- consciously continue the gratitude-awareness habits already in place.
- Practicing lounging more
- consciously do more random acts of kindness, wellness and caring
- give myself a break from former resolutions because…
- nobody beats up on me like ME.
